I was born in England and of English parents. I’m one of seven children having two sisters and four brothers. I grew up in the county of Essex on the outskirts of London. After High School, I worked as a teller in various banks and also in statistical accounting. I met my American born husband, Gary, who is from Alabama, in 1968 when he was serving in the US Navy on a joint forces exercise at a base in England. Later he was assigned to the American Embassy in London. We were married in 1969 in England. We have four children, a daughter and three sons, one of whom was born in America. We also have three granddaughters.

After Gary got out of the Navy, he worked for Eaton Corporation in London. After a while, we decided to make our home in the US and arrived in Alabama with three children and a huge amount of luggage in 1981. Later on, after a move to FL, we started attending Church of Our Saviour in Palm Bay, FL. In 1988, while involved in many church ministries, I felt the call to ordained ministry. In 1989, I started pursuing a degree and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Psychology in 1995. With my degree in hand, I started the process to ordained ministry in the Diocese of Central Florida. After going through the process and being approved, Gary, our two youngest sons and I headed to Seminary at the School of Theology on the University of the South campus in Sewanee, Tennessee, in the fall of 1996.

I graduated from Seminary in June of 1999. I was ordained as a transitional Deacon on June 19th in the Diocese of Central Florida, then as a priest on December 18th, 1999, in the Diocese of East Carolina. I have served churches in North Carolina, Ohio and, currently, I serve as Vicar at St. Thomas, Trenton, in the Diocese of Michigan since May of 2007. Since coming to the Diocese of Michigan, I have served a three term on Diocesan Council and more recently a three year term as Dean of the Downriver Deanery.

My hobbies are my family, our vacation home in Gibraltar on a canal flowing into Lake Erie, kayaking, music, reading and writing. I love nature, wildlife and walking in the great outdoors. We have a female Yorkshire Terrier, Yuna, and a male Chihuahua, Angel, that take Gary and I for regular walks.

I am devoted to serving God, His Church and the world with the gifts I have been given and feel blessed to be the priest and pastor and a part of God’s vineyard and family at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Trenton, MI.
